• Intentional spying
• Concentration of data in large centralized databases
  • This is a security risk
  • And allows the database owner to correlate different sources of information about an individual, allowing one to get a much more detailed picture of them than was previously feasible
• Connection of databases over the Internet or telephone lines (security risk)
• More skilled hackers and spies.
