FearfulIndividualism is an individualistic attitude born out of fear, in which persons and small groups are fearful of each other to the extent that they avoid interaction. Certain primitive peoples display aspects of this state, though a society in which every individual avoids contact with all other individuals would be difficult or impossible to imagine. Contrast with EnlightenedIndividualism and EconomicIndividualism.
